How I Keep It Simple and Effective

I'm a big fan of simplicity. Skincare doesn't have to be a complicated, multi-step ritual. My skincare routine is straightforward and has worked for me: a morning and night wash followed by a hydrating moisturizer or serum. That's it. No fuss, no frills.
But it wasn’t always this way. Back in the day, I didn’t put much thought into what I used to wash my face. I would grab whatever was available—soap, body wash, maybe that random cleanser I found in the back of the cabinet. Moisturizer? That was optional at best. My routine was as random as it could get. Needless to say, my skin wasn’t exactly thriving.
Then came the "aha" moment. You know the saying: "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." It was time for a change.
The Importance of Consistency
I realized that a consistent facewash routine allows your skin to adapt to products and really soak up the benefits over time. And let me tell you, patience, my friends, is a virtue (and an absolute must in skincare). If want to know about the importance of patience in achieving healthy skin, click here.
It's key to remember that everyone’s skin is different, so your routine should be tailored to your unique needs.
Morning Routine: Cleanse & Hydrate

Every morning, I wash my face with a moisturizing cleanser. This step is crucial because it removes dirt, oil, and impurities that could clog pores and lead to breakouts or other skin issues. You might be wondering, "Why wash my face in the morning if I already did it the night before?" Well, while you sleep, your skin produces oils, sheds dead skin cells, and picks up sweat and bacteria from your pillowcase. So, that morning cleanse is essential for starting your day with a fresh face.
After cleansing, I gently pat my face dry with a towel instead of rubbing it. Why? Because patting is gentler on your skin, helps prevent irritation, and keeps moisture locked in for better hydration. Trust me, your skin will thank you.
Next up, moisturizer! I apply a thin layer to keep my skin hydrated. For an extra boost, I add three drops of my rose gold oil to my moisturizer. This combo keeps my skin soft and hydrated throughout the day.
Night Routine: Cleanse & Nourish
At night, I repeat the same routine: cleanse, pat dry, moisturize. But instead of combining my moisturizer with the serum, I keep things a little simpler. I only use my Rose Gold Oil or another natural serum to give my skin that extra nourishment while I sleep. And that’s it—I’m good to go.
Let’s Talk Toner (Or not)
I know some of you are wondering, 'But what about toner?' Honestly, I don’t use one. I don’t believe toners are a necessity. For me, they can be quite drying, so I skip them. But hey, if toner works for you, go for it! Skincare is all about finding what works for your skin type and concerns.
Weekly Exfoliation: Keeping it Fresh
To keep my skin looking its best, I exfoliate once a week with my homemade sugar scrub. It works wonders for clearing away dead skin cells and unveiling a brighter, more radiant complexion. I typically swap out my regular cleanser for the scrub at the start of the week.
Consistency & Patience: The Real MVPs
Remember, consistency is key—like with anything in life. A simple skincare routine makes it easier to stick with, and patience is crucial. True, lasting results take time, and they definitely won’t appear overnight. The journey to healthy, glowing skin is a marathon, not a sprint. By sticking to your routine and giving your products time to work, you’re investing in long-term results. So, embrace the process, be patient, and let your skin soak up the benefits of consistent care.
Simplicity, consistency, and a dash of patience—that’s the magic formula.
